For clients:

Professional level service in construction staking, topography, ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, mapping, writing legal descriptions, and quality control in and around Orange County, California. With lots of advance notice, I can also do surveys in remote parts of the state. (I camp).

Business-to-Business professional services for civil engineers or land survey firms

Mapping: $110/hour (usually about 4 hours for the first sheet and 2 hours each for additional sheets. San Juan Surveys, Inc. has mapping software)
Writing legal descriptions: $110/hour
Rental field crew, my equipment: 1-man crew. $200/hour (San Juan Surveys, Inc. provides all equipment).
Quality control: $110/hour (usually about 30 minutes per map sheet, and an hour or two to check a legal, depending on the complexity and number of calls)

Note: I work at Caltrans, so I can work on weekends or afternoons. Also, I have to avoid conflicts of interest, so I will tell you if I am disqualified from working on your project.

About

President: Benjamin Baeder, PLS 9786, responsible charge

Philosophy: Do it once, and do it right.

Experience: 18 years, 12 in the field and six in the office.

Field experience:

I started in the mid 2000s climbing around on steel buildings as an apprentice chainman with Pfeiler and Associates here in Southern California. Since then I worked on subdivisions, luxury homes, public street improvements, large apartment complexes, lot surveys, as builts, control surveys, boundary retracements, level runs, ALTAs, topos, the development of mega malls, the development of fast-food restaurants, flood certifications, along with many other tasks.

Office experience:

Since 2020, I’ve worked at Caltrans District 12 in Orange County. I am proficient in drafting, map making, map checking, and writing and checking legal descriptions. I have been deposed for court matters during the course of my duties at Caltrans and I have prepared exhibits for the courts. In addition, I have a large network of experienced surveyors from whom I can consult.

Biography:

I have lived in San Juan Capistrano since 2017. I am on the Board of Dana Point Youth Baseball. I attend Calvary South OC church. My hobbies are disc golf, surfing, and guitar.
